Differences between industrial sprockets and plate sprockets

Industrial Simplex, duplex and triplex sprockets: which design suits your application?

At Donghua, we supply sprockets in three main designs: simplex, duplex and triplex. These terms refer to the number of chain rows running simultaneously over the wheel, which directly affects the power capacity of the transmission.

Simplex sprocket

A simplex sprocket is suitable for one chain row and is widely used in standard applications with relatively low loads. Its compact design makes this type very efficient in smaller machines or installations with limited installation space.

Duplex sprocket

Do you need higher power transmission and not enough installation space to use a larger chain with a larger chainring? Then a duplex sprocket is an excellent choice. This version works with two parallel rows of chain and offers more stability and tractive force, without the need to make the system much wider.

Triplex sprocket

For the toughest industrial applications, maximum reliability and strength are crucial. Even with limited installation space, a drive must continue to perform efficiently and robustly. Donghua supplies high-quality triplex sprockets that meet these requirements in these situations. Our machining department produces these sprockets with extreme precision. In our measuring room, all critical dimensions are carefully checked so that everything is right down to the hundredth millimetre.

Thanks to our own engineering and machining department, we can respond quickly when customisation is required. Specials or modified standard models can therefore often be delivered very quickly, without being dependent on external suppliers.
